It's not waterproof and not even very waterproof. They must be covered. We had a very light shower. The house was under gutters, so it didn't rain for the most part. The top and sides have plastic on the inside to slow down water ingress, while the bottom doesn't, so water is sucked up instantly. The cover of the heating pad only fits at the top and at the corners, so that it can actually stay dry despite the damp surface. After an hour of spraying, the entire bottom half is fully saturated. So it was with the roof and all the seams. The edge of the bed got wet too (it didn't have valves because they scared the cat, now they have them). Therefore, it doesn't do its job very well. Now he feels warm in bed. Low 30s when the cat gets up and I feel the bed for my stray to love. I just wish she would resist the water better.
