If like me you are trying to balance carbon/nitrogen/phosphate to make your refugium perform better. That's great! Just do it REALLY slowly and steadily. I reduced my nitrates from barely detectable to 3ppm and then waited two months to see if my phosphates went down and they did. Worked as intended and now that my phosphates are going up I know that increasing my nitrates to 3ppm will basically feed the heto enough to take my phosphates from 0.08-0.1 to an ideal 0.03. i love this stuff It's better than throwing away some extra groceries. I feed already ridiculous.
