Review on Prestacycle Right Angle Quick Click2 Presta by Cris Drew

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Outdated design with serious problems.

I bought this pick knowing it was an "open" design that didn't have a pin to depress the presta valve and forgot what that meant that I can't use the bleeder valve on my inflation gun to deflate my tires as the presta valve will not close unless you depressurize the inflation line. I just don't understand why anyone would find the open cartridge design useful, especially when most modern designs are valve actuated and have integral exhaust valves. Maybe this would help if you're trying to use a leaky old hand pump? The rubber o-ring that seals the valve stem is very tight and actuates the valve when you press on the chuck, causing a bunch of tires to lose pressure before you even start pumping, which would be terrible for a hand pump. The seal also puts an uncomfortable force on the fragile valve stem when you pull out the cartridge. The long cartridge tube exerts a large vertical force on the valve stem, causing the cartridge to leak if you don't hold it. square with one hand. This makes it virtually useless with a hand pump unless you're comfortable pumping with one hand. After trying at least 5 different designs of Presta cartridges and realizing they all have one major flaw, I'm just going to splurge on an expensive Park Tool inflator. and get it over with.

  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
