Review on 🔪 Black Cross-Cut Paper Shredder - Royal 1840MX, Shreds 18 Sheets by Thong Pilla

This unit the Royal 1840MX replaced an old Royal 160MX very similar to this one but Royal stopped selling gears for it so I could' fix it it might not be the third time in 10 years. So in the end it lasted a long time, but only because I changed gears in it twice in so many years. Changing gears is one of the main reasons I bought this 1840 because when I checked the Royal website they sell replacement gears for the 1840MX. Hopefully they will still sell them if this device fails in the future. Anyway for a review of the 1840MX I would say that it has a lot more power than the 160MX and also seems to feed a bit faster which is important if you feed a lot. A downside can be that there is little variability from the moment the sensor is triggered to the moment it starts moving and grinding the paper. Not bad but slightly different than the 160MX but once the motor turns on it continues to provide power until there is an interval where the sensor doesn't turn off. So as long as it works and you feed it, it will keep working, don't worry. Maybe they did it for safety reasons and hopefully it's not a bug in my car. In any case, he gnaws things into small pieces that can't be put back together. CDs and DVDs are chewed into the same tiny pieces and mixed up with paper in the same container. In fact, it chews discs better than the 160MX ever did. There are also credit cards and next to the main paper slot there is a separate slot for discs and credit cards making this a very easy task and I use the same slot for unopened junk mail and envelopes. Members of the Sams Club Mark 13 gallon bin liner that fits perfectly and hangs down the sides to stay in place. This makes emptying that much easier and cleaner, and when the hopper is full you can push the mulch down to chop up a lot more before it needs to be emptied. Then simply pull out the pouch and insert a new liner. So don't buy anything fancy as you won't need it. All in all a good solid block that will destroy anything you put into it.
