Review on 🚪 Gray Indoor & Outdoor Retractable Baby & Pet Safety Gate - Extra Wide 54" x 34" - Jool Baby by Sasha Holmes

I wanted to use this gate for my porch so my dogs wouldn't run outside. I currently use a pressure grid and my dog can just walk through the gap. Another reason for these gates is to give me the space I need on the porch steps when I need to move something big. The airtight gate practically covers 1/2 of the entry area, so when a large package is brought to me, the delivery people just leave it on the stairs instead of taking it to the porch because the gate's opening is too small and it there is a metal bar at the bottom that doesn't allow you to just slide the box in. The gate itself is fairly easy to install, at least it was easier than a pressure mount which took me forever to find the right adjustment to keep the gate straight. However, I found that closing the gate wasn't as easy as I thought because I had to line up the top and bottom of the latch mechanism when I wanted to close the gate. The gate is also quite high, so now the couriers just leave my packages on the stairs because opening and closing the gate is just a hassle. While the gate worked to keep my dogs out of the gap, now they can't see through the gap so they will try to get up and lean against the gate. The gate seemed to hold up well when leaning but I don't think it will work in the long run. So a week later I went back to metal push on gates. I still think it's a pretty good gate, well made and easy to install, just not quite right for my purpose.
