These motion detection lights help illuminate dark closet shelves, hallways and kitchen counters when you need light. They burn for about fifteen seconds and then go out. You can turn them on instantly just by swiping your hand across them. They stick to painted drywall, wood, and tile. They come with additional magnetic adhesive strips that allow you to place the adhesive strip where you need the light and then the light bar itself can be snapped onto the magnetic adhesive strip. This way you can remove the light strip to change the battery and then just snap it back onto the strip when you're done. Requires 4 AAA batteries. The only annoying thing about the flashlights is that they are not designed for rechargeable AAA batteries and will run out within a few weeks if there is frequent movement near one of them. Still an excellent product.
