First of all, this is not a reliable product. The tolerances between the parts are very small, so little force is required to connect the two parts. You have to do this by placing the piece that will attach to the seat on the table and holding it while you align and position the other piece. I broke the first one I had because I was trying to assemble it on a bike and the parts moved and broke. It was quickly replaced hence the excellent customer service comment. Now I have two of these because the mounts work great. I try to be careful when fastening things to my bike, so instead of torque I use Loctite to make sure things stay in place. If you don't have a torque wrench and you ride a carbon fiber bike, you might want to get one. Either way, this is the right size bag for me - I don't need a bug bag hanging under my seat.
