Failed on the first run.

I really wanted to like it. I ordered one and ordered two more (they are on the way) so I can easily switch bikes. I recently took it on a road bike ride that was about 47 miles long. Eventually I saw that my radar was missing. I panicked, backed away and got lucky and found him. It got a scratch. Looks like the radar/backlight is back in place but now I'm worried. Not sure how it came off the adapter a quarter turn.

  • The list will be long.

I'm not sure I can trust this mount with an expensive tail light again.

Although this block is advertised as being made of high strength CNC aluminum with no mention of plastic, unfortunately the most critical part is made of plastic and brittle plastic. Would I trust that one with my $200 light again?! Why O Why did they make this part out of plastic and not aluminum. In general, the idea with this bike is great. I was able to mount it on my luggage rack with no problem, it's very versatile but unfortunately the plastic can break easily. To the seller's creditโ€ฆ

Material quality Durability of the product

The concept of this product is good. It works great when you put your Varia Radar Light in a high position. It takes up space and if you are using a saddlebag there is no room for it. However, due to the use of cheap, low-quality plastic, I strongly advise against buying it. I used mine for a few months and then unexpectedly the white plastic clip broke. Fortunately, this happened at home, not on the street. Therefore, my Varya was safe. If this happens while traveling I could lose or damage my

Yes, it can be used with a (small) saddlebag.

Other reviewers have commented that the build and overall quality of this mount is excellent. They are. This is a solid product. Others have also found that this does not work with all saddles. I understand that too, but what's important is that the quarter turn mounting plate rotates up or down. If you can attach small brackets to the seat rails you can get the light to work. What you can't do is attach this mount to your saddle and then expect a backpack-sized seat to fit in there. Theโ€ฆ

The aluminum got so hot it melted the plastic

It was very easy to install. I will say this as my experience during the first bike ride, read below. I haven't been in contact with anything electrical or anything that I think would cause the aluminum to heat up enough to fry the plastic. Part. I installed it correctly on the seat tracks, was driving about 2-3 miles when I heard a chime, a few seconds later two more chimes, I continued driving not knowing what it was. I was riding alone and in a moment my Garmin computer said it had lostโ€ฆ

Rock solid and works with seatbag

I bought and installed two of these Varia Mounts. I was not able to install it on any of the bikes with the seat rail mount at an upward angle as shown in the listing. The V-angle on the seat rails made it impossible to tighten the bracket. They are both fixed in a horizontal position. I wanted to use my medium sized saddlebags so I ordered aluminum extensions. Because this Varia mount uses a GoPro compatible connection between the two parts, I searched "GoPro Mount Extension" on the Revainโ€ฆ

Excellent customer service.

First of all, this is not a reliable product. The tolerances between the parts are very small, so little force is required to connect the two parts. You have to do this by placing the piece that will attach to the seat on the table and holding it while you align and position the other piece. I broke the first one I had because I was trying to assemble it on a bike and the parts moved and broke. It was quickly replaced hence the excellent customer service comment. Now I have two of these because

Great idea with limited use depending on your saddle

The biggest problem here is "does it fit YOUR saddle rails?" The metal clamp has two grooves that fit snugly into the rails under the saddle. But there is no real regulation. Most bicycle saddles have rails that are very narrow at the top of the saddle and gradually diverge toward the back of the saddle. And as soon as the rails appear with the bicycle saddle, they usually differ greatly from each other. For my saddle, which is the standard saddle size on many road bikes, this clip only fits in
