This is an exact OEM replacement for my 2010 Ford F-150 Supercrew. I have standard climate control (not dual zone) and had an issue where the climate system was only producing cold air. I knew this part had failed because months ago I could hear a faint "crunch" or "hiss" when the temperature control switched from hot to cold. At some point the part stopped working. As mentioned, there are several YouTube videos showing how to access the replacement of this part by unclipping the trim on either side of the center console, removing the center console, and then removing the radio. . You will also need a small 5/16" (or 8mm) open-end wrench (see photo) to remove a screw on the side of the drive's firewall, and you should access this screw by putting your right hand through the A few tips that have helped me: 1. There is a large wiring harness at the top of the glove box opening, disconnect it from the crossbar it attaches to (there are two snap clips) and move it down and to the side, so you can reach the hole better with your hand 2. You drop your wrench at least once Wrench when I dropped it which I did (see photo).3. Be very careful when unscrewing the screw with the Remove (then put back) with fingers Luckily I didn't drop the screw but you have to be very patient especially when inserting the screw into the new drive unit.4.The cable connector attached to the actuator r has a red locking clip that needs to be pulled off the actuator and then pushed onto the locking clip to remove the connector. In my case there was very little slack in the wire so I had to remove it by feel.5. Be careful and patient when installing a new drive. The gears have a key. If it is not aligned exactly as desired and the screw holes line up, you can turn the ignition key to the "auxiliary" position and SLOWLY turn the temperature knob to rotate the actuator so that it aligns to the correct position. After screwing on the new drive, start your truck and test the air conditioning before putting everything back together. If something is wrong, this makes it much easier to fix. Overall installation was easy, aside from the issue of loosening a screw on the firewall side of the drive. I spent just under 90 minutes from start to finish, including the time I spent waiting for my truck to warm up so I could test the work before reassembling the dash. Without the extra effort and disassembly required to remove and reinsert a screw, this job would have taken 30-45 minutes maximum.
