Stop shaming my burly dog!

This is a fantastic coat! I tried several brands and models and was about to give up. Nothing even came close to the big, fat neck of my 65-pound pit bull. Discrimination, I tell you! Finding this coat, designed specifically for muscular, stocky dogs, was a huge relief. Not only does my pit bull have very short hair, he's recovering from demodicosis so he has a lot of bald spots. The Velcro straps on the chest and body are very long, leaving plenty of room for a custom fit. I'm a size 26 for my dog and although it's a bit longer it fits his neck perfectly and I would have preferred more protection anyway. The Velcro at the neck fully overlaps and the waist strap can be 1-2 inches longer than needed for his waist. The fabric is fantastic - good quality, water repellent, with a warm fleece lining - it keeps it comfortable to wear. It's -5 degrees in Ohio. The reflective strips are really bright. The coat is easy to wash and dries quickly. The back (on the 26" model) is nearly a full foot long, lined(!) and has a double zipper so you can position the harness hole precisely while keeping cold air out and your dog warm. The chest strap is high enough so when using the Easy Walk harness you can attach the leash without your coat getting in the way. The only thing I don't like about this coat is that the waist belt is way back. It's obviously designed for thick-chested dogs, so some dogs need to put the band that far back for it to fit snugly. In my male, however, the stripe is dangerously close to sausage territory. He hasn't written about it yet, but sometimes there's a very slight haze effect. Pooh.
