While perhaps not common for this fan, I connected it to a 4" flexible vent hose to create my "cat litter stink removal system". In short, our cat will stink the whole house after just one poo, even with the automatic trough closed. I decided to find a way to get that stench outside, so I needed a fan that moves a lot of air with a very low noise level so as not to startle the poor smelly kitty. This fan did its job perfectly! It moves enough air to remove all of the stench from the litter box and is quieter than a whisper. We can finally breathe again in our house!
