Okay folks, the burnt harness connector on top of the gate is legit. I removed all the harness connections and drilled holes in them to run a jumper wire to reconnect ALL the wires through the harness. Got a new motor, installed it and heard a faint hum from the new part. Instinct said more country. I ran an extra section with an eye on the ends from the bottom screw on the motor mount to the screw on the tailgate handle. Now it works great. Remember the EARTH! EARTH! EARTH!
