With 9 pieces, each section was easy to put on. Each piece fits neatly into each section. I was able to test it outside for several hours in a blizzard and mixed rains. While the lens felt a lot thicker, these covers also gave me a good idea that the lens is well insulated and offers some protection from sleet and light freezing rain. Everything is left when you are in autofocus mode. In manual focus mode, the neoprene cover slipped and slid a bit, but I also used gloves, which reduced touch sensitivity. Finally, the last piece of neoprene near the mounting ring has been designed to be used without the tripod ring attached. As you can see in the second photo I was able to turn it on by simply peeling off the neoprene as it crossed the tripod mount for this lens. I chose to leave it, even though this thing wasn't meant for it. Overall I love the look and the digital camouflage print. It complements my wildlife photography digital camo outfit, which is also a digital army green-brown, although those tones are darker on the LensCoat.
