The cards are big and strong like card stock. Not skinny. For a nice, clean look, use 4x6 vertical photo prints. The luster is not loose, which peels off when scratched. So don't worry about glitter everywhere. I recommend this to everyone. You only need two double-sided stickers (included) per photo. I attached a stick each to the top and bottom of the back of the photo to keep it flat and secure to each gold card. I have an outdoor birthday but it will still be safe even if the wind blows or people touch it. The holes for threading the rope are in the perfect spot so you don't have to worry about breakage. If you get a tear in the small case (which shouldn't happen due to the quality), just make two new holes whole. In general I am very satisfied. Note: In the 12 month old photo my almost 1 year old baby came in and bent a bit but you can still see the quality.
