I needed an outlet that could fit both bulky plugs and three USB devices. It does, and it charges both iPads and smartphones well. The only problem I had was when I tried to plug it into the socket next to the light switch in my kitchen that controls the under cabinet lights, it was too wide for that purpose. The light switch was directly on the new socket. I've moved a lot of things on the counters and plugged them into a different single outlet. It seems to work fine in this position. Please note that this is a fairly thick fork protruding at least 1.6 inches from the wall which may make it too deep for some purposes. So it does what it wants, I just had to place it in the right place.
