I really wanted to like this device, but.

I really wanted to like this device because it has so many things that Motorola got right. It's comfortable, attractive, and the equipment is easy to use. I love the integration of music player, GPS fitness device and phone extension. All connectivity options, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, worked flawlessly with headsets and phones. And as a standalone GPS tracker, it tracked workouts, speed, speed, etc. However, there are two main problems. First, it's the battery and charging system. The first device I received actually didn't charge at all and gave me an error message saying it contained an unapproved battery. When I received a replacement, I found that I could only charge the device with the USB cable that came with it; other Motorola micro USB cables will not work. The device not only did not charge, but also completely discharged when connected to non-standard cables. I thought I was ok because the charging light was on, but when I checked in the morning the device was completely drained even when it was off. The device is unusable, it is lying on the counter without electricity. Why make a universal charging connector when you need a branded cable? That alone was a deal breaker for me. I want a device that works with a universal charger, especially when traveling. The other big problem isn't actually with the device, but with the ecosystem that comes with it, including the mobile app and website. If you want to keep track of your overall fitness, it's a real must. The only place manual workouts can be added is on the mobile app, and you can't even edit them on the website. The workout schedule on the website is not user friendly and not fully integrated with the device or mobile app. And for those who want better options, there's no way to export info via .gpx or anything like Endomondo or any other site that actually works. If you're just running and following it on MotoActv it might be fine, but for those of us who prefer more variety in our fitness routine, neither the device nor its support system is comprehensive or easy to use.
