SERIOUS WIDE ANGLE, fuzzy on zoom

Whoever designed this thing suggests you put 20 people at the boardroom table, put Meetup at one end of the table, and want to see EVERYONE sitting at the table. This design goal results in a wider angle than necessary. WORSE, since it has NO optical zoom, that extreme wide angle means you ZOOM and the resolution goes to hell. I had to return this item. Logitech PDF Specifications IMPLIED 5x zoom. That implies optical zoom, especially when you pay the steep $900 price tag. But no! This is DIGITAL ZOOM. That means when you zoom in, your resolution disappears because fewer pixels are used. Very disappointed in Logitech. I thought it was a good brand name and with a retail price of $900 they have enough money to do something good. BUT it bombarded my perfectly NORMAL situation. a drying board measuring 4 feet by 6 feet and a camera about 9 feet away. Zooming resulted in a spooky image. You will NOT get a good picture of an average mathematical formula written by an average mathematician. Avoid everything. I'm moving to what is actually PTZ (pan, tilt and zoom) with motorized optical zoom. What's awful is that for $900, Logitech had to get it right, with optical zoom. VERY disappointed and now have to try Logitech Rally. I would like to do rotating optics but it's too expensive.
