It worked perfectly for me! I have a laptop with a lot of photos on it. Unfortunately some of them seem to be duplicates and there are so many different folders and images that it would be very difficult to organize them all and remove duplicates. Although my laptop works well, it is showing its age and will one day need to be replaced. I didn't want to lose all my photos so I tried saving them to a memory card. Transfer speed was very slow with memory cards. When I received this hard drive, I turned off the computer completely, plugged in the hard drive, and then started the computer. The computer accepted the hard drive and loaded all drivers very quickly. I started copying image files to an external drive and couldn't believe how fast the transfer speed was. Now I have all my photos and a few video clips on this external hard drive. Maybe in the future I can organize them better and eliminate duplicates, but for now everything is safe on my new external hard drive. I recommend this hard drive to everyone.
