I originally had a metal halide fitting on my 29 gallon salt biocube when I started using it almost 7 years ago and it worked fine. I wanted to try something different and decided on an LED light which is also expensive. After two years of trying to set up an LED and get the "good" growth I originally had with my first set of metal halide bulbs, I gave up and went back to my metal halide bulb. My friend bought this bulb about 3 months before me and told me you can't go wrong with it. It is now 7 months with this lamp and I have more growth and life in my aquarium than in the first 6.5 years with another metal halide lamp and LED lighting. I can say with confidence that this lamp saved my aquarium.
