This aerator produces fairly large bubbles. It's made of ceramic, so it won't break like natural stone. Please note: the released bubbles are too big for small delicate fish. This would be great for goldfish or beta. I actually bought these to set up my oxygen humidifier as the bubbles coming out of the oxygen generator got into my breathing tube. Creating smaller bubbles stops this migration. Being ceramic, I was able to sterilize the stone with alcohol prior to placing it in the oxygen system.
