With a 2GHz overclock, fans on and full boot, the Pi never exceeds 60°C with an ambient temperature of 22°C, well below 80°C throttle temperature. Right now I'm using it as a CHIA farm machine, which is overkill, but when I used it as a NAS with LUKS disk encryption, it was able to support a full 1Gbps transfer rate. Access to the heat sink is provided for USB power supply. I wanted to use better quality paste or pads, but with a PI below 60C I chose to be lazy 99% of the time. Improvement: I think the fans could use a better channeling strategy as they just seem to be blowing air into a dead end. The fans are definitely noisy and I wouldn't want to sleep next to them. the top of the heatsink to allow air to circulate inside the case e?
