Review on Dorman 955-302 Power Door Mirror for Select Models - Passenger Side by Jeff Wyble

Revainrating 3 out of 5

1/2 quality at 1/2 price OEM

I used Dorman OE Solutions 955-301 and 955-302 (driver and passenger respectively) to replace broken mirrors on my 1996 GMC Jimmy . In general, Dorman OE Solutions parts fit together well. Only keep the original nuts as you will only receive the mirror assembly and the triangular piece of styrofoam. Compared to the original mirror: 1. Dorman parts are the same size as OEM parts, but the actual mirror/reflective area is approximately 15% smaller than OEM parts, so your field of view will be limited. The Dorman mirror is not held in the assembly as tightly as the OEM. This will cause the mirror to vibrate at a higher speed (over 60 mph). If you just point your finger at the mirror, you will see that the Dorman is more flexible while the OEM mirror doesn't move.3. Engine performance is not as smooth (jerky) as OEM. Adjusting the mirror requires a little more force. This may be due to #2. If I had to do it again I would pay twice as much to avoid mirror vibration. However, if I don't leave my car behind, Dorman parts are fine.
