We had a large flat screen TV and the HDMI ports were shot through years of use. We were looking to get rid of it until I searched the internet and found that you can bypass the HDMI ports and connect to the avi/pc port, which prompted me to purchase this item. Received it a few days after ordering, hooked up an HDMI, hooked it up to an AVI/PC port and hooked up an audio cable. and we're back in business! Works great, just what I needed and was looking for! I highly recommend this if you have the same problem with a broken HDMI port but don't want to get rid of a decent TV!
