Review on DuPont WFHD13001B Universal Filtration System: 💧 Advanced Water Filter for Cleaner and Safer Water by Bobby Frazier

I bought this to filter out large sediment particles. I wanted something with a lot of water flow and only filtered out large micron particles. I also ordered fittings for 1" NPT holes to hook into the Pex line and postponed them over the weekend to complete my project. When I opened the package the instructions strongly recommended purchasing an additional bracket. Needless to say, I was a little frustrated trying to make sure I had everything for my project, so I was trying to figure out a way to make something that would work, given what the engineers know about it (note (I'm not talking DuPont engineers - more on that later) why they didn't include the bracket needed for installation remains a mystery to me.No screws are included, nor is there a description of the type of screws that work , so I couldn't attach them to the case even if I could find an acceptable way to attach them.Those who found a way to install it without a T-bracket will appreciate the Karo sserie attached with 5/16x1 screws. I went to a big orange store to see if they had a mount and I was able to finish my project but unfortunately there is no mount. They offered to order it for me for almost $20 but it won't arrive for a week or so. I checked their stock filters and to my surprise they had a different brand of SAME FILTER HOUSING. It was white instead of blue, but had the exact same specs and even the same air release button. I mean, right - like it came from the same mold (winks). And, drum roll, it even came with a bracket! The overall cost for the "orange" device was a few dollars more than the DuPont case, but since it included the required mount, it ended up being fifteen dollars less than the DuPont case and mount. Needless to say, I purchased the "orange" device and installed it in about an hour. I will be sending another one back to Revain as Revain's return policy is amazing. To break a long story, you probably shouldn't buy this without a mount. A smarter move? Look for another/complete solution. Finally, a note for DuPont's marketing. It is noted that when you don't have all the parts to complete the job, more mistakes are made in DIY than when you start a project. Please consider asking a few dollars more and including a mount just to make it right.
