This is the best lapel microphone you can find at this price. I use it for tenor saxophone. I have a mic pre that provides phantom power and some warmth and punch. That's convenient. I just run it through the preamp, into the stomp box, and out to my amp. It has an XLR clip so you can attach it to your bag so you don't have a small cable getting in the way. It was much more comfortable than playing into a stationary mic. The downside is you can't play with mic proximity, but I'm willing to sacrifice that for clarity.
