I was surprised that the heads cannot be removed for proper cleaning. I'm not a germphobe, but there's no way of knowing if the heads are hiding dirt on them, especially if you just toss them in the dishwasher. Perhaps you could soak them in the powdered brew solution home brewers use to clean stainless steel without a scraper? The brushes are great for handles, but the heads must be removable for proper cleaning. I wouldn't buy them if I found out, but I will use them as apparently I shouldn't have assumed something so basic. I am only deducting one star as I could have explored more. These are my first tea straws, is that ok? Kind of gross.
