My 5 liter KitchenAid Artisan flip-head blender came with a glass bowl and when I bought it KitchenAid had a discount on an extra free glass bowl so I have two glass bowls and not a single metal bowl. As you probably already know, KitchenAid only makes a protective shield for their metal bowls. I have one and sometimes plant it in a glass bowl because it's better than nothing, but it just doesn't suit me at all and I've been looking for something better for years. I was a little concerned. that it doesn't really fit as some reviews say, but it works great for my glass bowls. It doesn't protect on all sides, but as for the actual pouring chute, I think it's better than the KitchenAid as it's a bit larger, comes out farther and is a bit deeper too, which reduces clutter. around. Dishwasher safe, which is nice, but KitchenAid IIRC is not. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.
