We have been using this honey dispenser for about a week and are very happy with it. Some reviewers note that the top should be metal, but we think the type of hard plastic used is adequate and likely keeps costs down. With metal, you need to pay attention to the rust factor and cost. There is very little or no leakage at the bottom. What pours out I think is the last drop that pours out but was too slow for the user to wait for it to pour out completely. I hope that makes sense. The rest of the cup and the transparent part of the dispenser look like glass to us. Some reviewers say it's acrylic plastic, but to us it feels like real glass. Last week my husband got a sore throat and he pours honey straight into his mouth without touching the dispenser or dirtying the spoon. I haven't washed it yet because it contains a lot of honey. We don't plan on washing it every time it's emptied as honey is naturally antibacterial/antimicrobial. I highly recommend this product.
