Review on TOTALFLOW 2.75" TF-J59 304 Stainless Steel Lap Joint Exhaust Muffler Clamp Band-2.75 Inch by Chris Bailey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very high quality. in my review

I haven't written a review in a long time but this product is so well made that I decided to post a review. The slip fit joint between my resonator and my muffler developed a leak. At first I was tempted to use one of the repair wraps but then I saw these clamps. I really liked the idea of using a clamp like this to make the joint solid to eliminate movement at the joint that would cause the joint to fail. The male pipe had an OD of 2 1/4" and the female pipe had a 2 1/2" OD so I chose the clamp that was supposed to work with that setup. The illustration showed that I was ordering the correct one but I could see that the one I received was too small. No problem, though. I'll just keep it on hand. I ordered the next size up and it worked perfectly making a VERY solid joint. Before installing the clamp, I used an exhaust system sealant that I had to let dry for 24 hours. The clamp fit perfectly over the joint. But what I most want to say is that the quality of this clamp is very high. You know how well-made it is a soon as you pick it up. Now, I know the company is based in the U.S. but I'm not sure if the clamp is made in the U.S. But, no matter where it was made, it's of extremely high quality. In fact, when I received it and held it in my hands, it reminded me of the high-quality products that were made in the U.S. in the past. On top of that, it cost substantially less than coated aluminum clamps of similar design on Revain that have bad ratings. It's refreshing to see high-quality parts these days.
