If you purchase this set CHECK EACH METAL within 30 days of purchase. In fact I've had several of these over the course of a year and have always been EXTREMELY pleased with their performance on metal or wood. They cut like butter for a long time and I only swapped out the kits after using them to exhaustion. But I recently bought a set because I knew I would need it for a special project in a few months. Threw the set onto my workbench to sit until needed. The day I needed it I used a few bits with no qualms - they cut like clockwork, centered exactly how I wanted them to, everything was fine - until I got to the 1/4" bit came. LAUGH at this piece. I've tried switching to softer stuff - more laughs. The 1/4-inch drill will not drill ANYTHING - NOTHING. I examined the drill and it was indistinguishable to the naked eye from any other drill in the set. This was followed by a frustrating online chat conversation with Dewalt. After EVER waiting for their chat "To find a rep to talk to" I finally found someone, told them they bought the set and sat on it until it took a few months did, and then found ONE obvious error in the box. Your quick response? "Sorry, 30 Day Guarantee" Period Yes, because everyone I know who buys a set of drill bits takes each one of them, one at a time, and tests them in turn, trying to to do so within 30 days of purchase. Seriously, Dewalt? Like I said I've bought a few of these over the years but no more. Dewalt will be off my list forever.
