Different types of tea require different brewing temperatures to achieve the best taste. Green tea in particular needs a lower water temperature, otherwise the infusion will be too bitter. I have this kettle for loose green, white and black tea. There are various settings that go with the tea. As soon as the kettle has reached the desired temperature, it will beep. I pour 8 ounces into a measuring cup, let sit for a minute, then pour into my tea. Perfect every time! After I'm done, I pour out the water, then maybe 20 minutes later, rinse with cold water and dry inside.
