I consider myself to be a person who tries to be prepared. I have a zippered bag of emergency items in our car, and my husband has wondered if it's really necessary, as our new car has less cargo space than our old one. This first aid kit is good news for him, as it contains a thoughtful assortment of items to deal with a wider variety of problems than I had imagined, yet is packed in a much smaller container. The long list of items is detailed in the listing, so I won't repeat them. I will say that they are cleverly packed in the kit, which has two clear pockets to hold items in place, and an additional, smaller pocket on one side to hold tiny items in front so they don't disappear behind everything else. The kit includes a list of items included and a brochure on first aid, so you can browse the contents to look for helpful items in an emergency. Several items stood out to me as being particularly useful, yet not something I would expect to find in such a small kit: namely, a thermal blanket of the sort made popular by recent activities on the Mexican border, and a whistle with a thermostat on one side and a compass on the other. So this kit covers not only injuries, but also being lost. The kit itself is sturdy and the red color makes it easy to find in an emergency. The zippers move smoothly, and it includes a sturdy ribbon loop with a carabiner clip attached so it is easy to bring the kit with you, should you venture off into the woods. I suspect it will replace much of the contents of of my own emergency bag.
