Review on πŸ›οΈ Underbed Wire Cart with Rolling Design by Whitmor for Optimal Organization by Jodi Ward

you do what i need

Let me start by saying that I have read the reviews and I have to agree with most of them. There are some issues with trash cans that wobble and feel fragile unless you secure them with zip ties or possibly flexible wire. But I had already planned it, so I didn't mind. And they roll by themselves on the hard ground. I happen to know my wooden floor is uneven and sometimes they move down the slope a bit. I wanted four to fit under my new, taller platform frame for my bed, and I wanted easier access to avoid scratching the floor like previous storage did. So I used zip ties on all four corners and held the sides together. That solved the shaky problem. Then I decided to tie them in pairs (also with zip ties) so that when I pull out the trash can from one side of the bed, the one from the opposite side pops up with it. This helps them stay flush with the bed and doesn't have any protruding corners, and also gives them enough resistance to keep them from wandering. They hold a lot and work very well at 11.5 inches under the bed. I don't think I want to put really heavy things in them, but when reinforced with zip ties they can easily take a lot. more weight than I put in. Overall I'm very satisfied because they do exactly what I want, but I understand that they may not be suitable for other people.

Pros
  • Great for seasonal storage or extra shoe storage
Cons
  • Makes me angry
