If you take your time and lay out the parts watch the video for proper technique, you can assemble it in less than an hour so take your time. The kit comes with extra LEDs that you can have fun with when you desolder, because honestly you have a good chance of fixing the problem and only find out after you complete the project. My only advice would be to not follow the final assembly instructions - if you solder two pieces of wood together without placing them in the base you will most likely warp and the final fit will be difficult.
