These Keen Clearwaters were such a disappointment. They are very narrow and cannot be stretched by untying the laces. The sizing isn't right either, or maybe that tightness shortens the toe. Anyway, I wear 7 1/2 in sandals and 8 in boots. The width has never been an issue although I have flat feet regardless of the cost of the shoe. That's why it was such a surprise. I expected more for the money. I have an old pair of Keens which have been perfect from the start and have always been so comfortable. These new ones are a different story! I even tried 8 1/2 and 9 thinking one of them would be better. Not this case. It's just not comfortable at all. I sent them back. I left an eight because I missed the return date. Another thing to note is that the soles are supposed to be odor resistant, but they aren't. Even with clean feet, with or without socks, it smells like no other shoe. The inside of these kens, where they make contact with your feet, is not comfortable on the skin. I have been recommending Keens for many years until I bought them. No longer!
