Review on FoodSaver FSFRBZ0316 000 1 Gallon Vacuum Zipper Storage & Organization by Lisa Kruit

Revainrating 3 out of 5

4 to 5 reuses of the bag until failure

Food Saver does not sell a handheld vacuum for these bags. You have a countertop you can use, but I don't want anything else. I've found a good rechargeable handheld vacuum pump that works really well with these bags and I'm surprised the zippered bags vacuum so completely. I bought these bags expecting to have multiple uses. Last Friday I bought 20 chicken strips at a diner, my wife and I ate a few and put them in a gallon bag. The family was in the bag Friday and sat. In the evening there were only 2 strips left and when I vacuumed them I couldn't seal them well and inspect the packaging, the sealing strip is lifted under vacuum to draw out air, sealed with glue which failed. Without the application of heat, the pack was stored in the refrigerator for 24 hours. So reusable ziplock bags that cost $8 for 12 packs can reliably be used 3 or even 4 times before failing. There are many other brands of ziplock vacuum bags on the market, so I will choose a different brand next time. The good thing is they work and you can successfully use a non-food handheld vacuum pump in these bags.
