NOT FOR FREEZER

Revain's description says these bags are excellent for freezing and the outside of the bags says 'not freezable'. I'm beyond annoyed because that's the only reason I bought them, plus the manual vacuum sealer that came with them. I've just seen some comments here where people have used them in the freezer. Considering I've already (stupidly) thrown away my vacuum pack, I'll probably try the freezer and update the review if they work well.

Great product but NOT for the freezer.

Original Review: I love the Foodsaver zippered bags. Saves money over regular bags as they can be resealed and washed after use. Additional review: These ziplock bags are great for things that keep in the fridge, but they lose their vacuum in the freezer. The vacuum lasts about 1-2 hours in the freezer! Very disappointing! FYI I've found regular ziplock bags with a small hole in the top corner that vacuum just as well, stick a piece of tape on right away and they'll hold a vacuum in the…

Ideal for canning and storing leftovers in the fridge.

I used to use another brand of vacuum bags to store leftovers but they are no longer made. I was thinking about buying a FoodSaver vacuum heat sealer but when I saw these bags I decided to forego the cost of the machine and bought a good supply of these bags. They are heavier and seal better than any other bag I have used. Luckily, another brand of hand vacuum pump worked just fine. If you don't have another brand of pump, I recommend purchasing a FoodSaver FSFRSH0051 FreshSaver handheld vacuum

Absolutely and excellent vacuum bag.

Absolutely fantastic. I dove into the whole printing business and ended up with custom sized plastic rolls. Pick up 1-gallon and quart bags and a hand pump for $29-$39 from Foodsaver. Soft foods such as tomatoes, mushrooms or herbs are killed. but bulky, pre-peeled garlic will last more than a month, as will cheese. Also gallon bags work great with large ziplock bowls and other containers you have rather than sealing expensive glass containers with a valve. No kidding, make a gallon bag with a…

Useful for a while.

Overall a good buy. They're not permanent storage, but very useful to keep the air from spoiling. Worked great for me for chilling tomatoes and meat, lettuce. Some use it on fresh bread, but it only helps if you "rehydrate" the bread in the microwave to make a sandwich. Suitable for freezing fresh meat. Donuts, french fries, cheddar and swiss cheese. I had two bad ones on me after multiple uses. Still a good value. Better than spoiling food. Update 10/8/20. The seal has deteriorated on multiple

  • So far so good

I had to buy replacement gallon vacuum bags for my vacuum sealer. I've seen all these rave reviews about frost free burns, but that wasn't my experience. I had ice/freezer burn from food sealed with these bags and placed in the freezer for 2 days! They work about the same as regular gallon Glad or Ziploc freezer bags when burned in the freezer, but they're more expensive. The back of the packaging says "not intended for liquids or freezer use". Wow. This was NOT made clear in the Revain ad or I

short and simple - durable - good size for large meat products or many small parts - easy to use. Long detailed version: I bought a vacuum sealer a few months ago and use it every week for cooking and sous vide. They are great and work exactly as they should. They are very durable and I can feel the difference between them and other no name bags I have used before. Gallon is suitable for large items or many small items. Sometimes I just need a smaller bag (for small items) so I cut these bags…

How to fix leaky FoodSaver ziplock bags.

I'm new to zip bags with the usually great FS system, but I've had a couple of FS zip bags that broke after a use or two. To find leaks, I filled the bags with air, sealed them tightly, and submerged them under water. Air flowed out of one immediately, and out of the other it flowed with considerable pressure. The leaks were in the same place on both bags; located at the bottom of the check valve. I then dried the bags and sealed the leaks with aluminum HVAC tape. I retested the bags by filling

4 to 5 reuses of the bag until failure

Food Saver does not sell a handheld vacuum for these bags. You have a countertop you can use, but I don't want anything else. I've found a good rechargeable handheld vacuum pump that works really well with these bags and I'm surprised the zippered bags vacuum so completely. I bought these bags expecting to have multiple uses. Last Friday I bought 20 chicken strips at a diner, my wife and I ate a few and put them in a gallon bag. The family was in the bag Friday and sat. In the evening there…
