Review on Munin by Brian Trujillo

I like how easy it was to set up, configure and monitor my system with munin! The graphs are very useful for showing me where i'm over or under performing in relation to other systems of similar size/environment etc. It's not as flexible when you need custom dashboards but this seems pretty niche use anyway so maybe its just an issue with our particular setup? We've been able to get some good insights into what has changed historically within our infrastructure which allows us to tune processes accordingly - we're running around 7 sites across various platforms (Ubuntu / Centos) using HAProxy load balancing proxies & Varnish caching servers. I like how easy it was to set up this system, as well as using their online dashboard. I dislike having to log into my server every time I want to check some of my servers stats. It would be nice if you could just have your own web page so people don't need to connect through ssh or putty etc. Also sometimes its hard to find what information you are looking for in the online dash board. We use munin to monitor our load average (average CPU usage) across multiple VMs running different applications.
