First off, don't assume your hamster is anything special and knock that thing over. I went away for 4 days and came home to find it overturned and on the other side of the glass jar. Secondly, food is not given out as you might imagine. it literally stays the same even when the food is eaten in the white tray. I made the gap as big as the cheap plastic part would allow, but the seeds just didn't spill out as I was hoping. To return.
