Review on Canon PowerShot SX610 HS - Wi-Fi Enabled (White) by Alex Britton

Like other reviewers I seem to have received one of the smaller Chinese made cameras. I don't think this is a bootleg or fake, more like a later model made by a lower quality company. I bought it to have better photos for my online sales but it was absolutely disastrous - everything is grainy, it can't take decent photos unless it's in bright street light. I hardly ever use it, instead using my Android camera which works better, which tells you something since Android cameras are notoriously bad. My 10 year old Canon PowerShot performs better and reportedly performs worse than this. When I first used it for night shots of a cake with candles and no lights it worked great, but as soon as I started changing the settings it stopped working too. Factory reset without help. I can compare photos I took the first night I took it out of the box to those I took after the reset and there's a noticeable difference - black spots, colors are muted, the overall tone tends towards the brown hue that I have. get rid of when editing. Like others, I was not able to register this under warranty and only realized what had happened after the time I was able to return the camera. Please only buy this camera if you can see it for yourself and ensure that it is one of the highest quality models made in Japan. I spent a few hundred dollars on it and was disappointed for a very long time.
