We kept him in our backyard for two months while waiting for a spot in the cat shelter for our little stray kitten who one day showed up skinny and hungry. He was immediately taken to the shelter and even became very protective of them. It was well warm inside, and he spent many cold nights inside to warm himself up. He didn't like the plastic Velcro door, though, so we left it in place on one side and open on the other. It is still very warm inside on the surface of the heating pad and through the blanket.
