I was looking at some of these seemingly similar devices after buying a 4K UHD Blu-ray player to connect to an Onkyo receiver, the I have been using happily since the late 80s x years. / early 90s. After realizing that modern players no longer have stereo RCA jacks, and having not yet found a need to upgrade my receiver (even after 30 years!), I looked for a solution to avoid the horrible built-in sound TVs and even sound bars. I almost switched to another item but noticed that it only supports 4K at 30Hz like most in this price range. This device supports 4K@60Hz. It just connected with my new HDMI 4k cables with almost no learning curve and it worked right away (after realizing I had to switch it to "ARC"). So far, so good!
