One of the two parts will not be sealed. The defect appears to be an internal crack, a vertical and continuous thread on a connector and no I didn't overtighten initially but eventually tightened hoping it would seal. The crack is close and parallel to the cast line, but not quite on it. It does not spread (leak) outward through the pour, but simply flows along the threads. Such a high rejection rate for 2 randomly selected items indicates a problem in the product range. For me the problem is reliability and in fact my project just got stopped. I'm investing a lot of money (a lot of mess) in my home's 100% iron-free water system. This piece ended up dripping water from a hard-to-reach spot in my attic (it cut through the wall, ceiling and crawled through the blown insulation). Luckily I pressure tested my system before the last instillation. I doubt most consumers have pressure testers. Anderson, if you are a manufacturer, please hire a metallurgist to evaluate this. If you are in the reboxing business, inform the supplier and discard the product line. Your reputation is at stake. Best regards Bruce
