This water siphon is perfect for us. I was looking for a smaller pump to use with my 12 gallon aquarium. My brother who is a fan of aquariums advised me to change the water often to keep my fish happy and not swimming in their garbage pile which I was afraid of until I found and used this one. Disclaimer: I have very limited usage experience. It's because I only have a 12 gallon tank and this is my first time using any type of pump. This siphon is really easy to use. I have never used it nor tried it. I just took out a bucket, stuck a hose in the tank and started draining. It is very easy to use and as soon as you lift the other side over the rest of the pipe the water flow stops making it easy to start/stop the water flow. It only takes a slight swing to get the water flowing. Everything is very simple, which makes changing the water incredibly easy. which in turn will make my fish happier since I'm less likely to put off the process.
