I think other reviewers took a good look at this - you might have trouble with different types of 3.5mm cables if you want to extend it (mine extends easily to 15 lengthen foot). because some 3.5mm cables have extra rings to connect both microphone and stereo at the same time. Also, don't hot-plug this thing - it's acting weird until you turn it off. So after doing all the things I shouldn't do, she still runs like a champ and couldn't be happier. Yes, it's annoying. Light on BOTH ends so you know it's receiving a signal. It's a fantastic troubleshooting feature but my goodness the light is so bright. I fixed it by covering the LED on the receiver and I didn't cover the LED on the control box as it's hidden in the cabinet anyway.
