I bought this Panasonic 50 inch plasma wall mount. As described, it is VERY solid and heavy or some other weak area. The levers are a little stiff to operate, which is good because you don't want your TV to move in the wind. It would be nice to get a helping hand when aligning the position on the wall as the whole unit is heavy. On to the cons: 1. First of all, the obvious problem is the distance between the wall plate mounting holes. The spacing between the outermost mounting slots is exactly 16" (not center to center). Since my interior wall studs are 16" on center, I had to slightly offset the location of the mounting holes on the studs to get them to work. This also makes the slotted mounting hole completely useless. It would also be better to have enough many places. for 3 rows of mounting holes, not just top and bottom. As mentioned this is a heavy unit and with the TV being heavy I decided to drill my own 3rd row to add more brackets. The instructions are fairly basic and all the necessary parts are included, but I bought some new high-strength fasteners. The instructions also recommend mounting to a concrete wall, with some suggestions for attaching the studs.2. Second, there are two square pockets on the wall plate and TV mount plate. They are great for placing wall outlets for power and media, but are slightly smaller than a standard wall plate. However, it doesn't matter with the position of the stud as I just placed my wall sockets with the conversion boxes on either side of the wall mount. In general, I do not regret the purchase. This is a very powerful wall mount with good quality. However, this is not ideal. The main disadvantage is the distance between the mounting plates.
