Review on Xero Shoes Barefoot Sandals Charcoal by Andrew Agarwal

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Best casual flip flops, pathetic runner.

Fit and feel still unbeatable, really good quality sandals. There are casual designer sandals on the market that dwarf them in price and don't have a 5,000 mile guarantee. I don't think the negative reviews here mean anything to the quality of the product. I intend to use them for everyday and training purposes, including long distance running. I hope to update in the future. UPDATE: I've been wearing them daily for a few weeks. The rubber strap on the heel came off (expected). The sandals require a decent adjustment. Even if many complain about it. First, we're not used to flops that have some degree of correction, even high dollar flops. It's a solid build with a unique, versatile design. All in all, a must-have feature in shape for anyone who wears flip flops on a daily basis. BUT! THIS IS IN THE BEST BAD RUNNER. I was a US Marine for almost ten years and before that I ran as a hobby. I still enjoy running, both long and short distances, and have run in minimalist Zero Fall shoes for many years. I really wanted them to function as durable and affordable runners. They just don't. They are exactly what you think they are walking in flip flops. The belt is a pain after a few kilometers, it pulls here and there. The sound of flip flops while running can be ignored, but the discomfort is not. Most runners can relate to overcoming aches and pains, but probably few can self-inflict ailments. You're wondering why the company completely reinvented the design for a more performance-oriented upper and a 5,000-mile-essential, minimalist bottom. If you're looking for a runner, buy the Z-Trek. If you're looking for the most comfortable, adjustable, lightweight, and durable flip flops, shop the Amuri. Just use Insight for whatever purpose you want.
