Review on Thetford Corp Porta Potti 92306 White: Portable Toilet Solution for Outdoor Comfort by Nick Shirodkar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Too long for de - Thetford makes an unpleasant task bearable.

I bought it two weeks ago. I am glad that I bought this product. First, let me say that my home is my caravan and this toilet is used on a daily basis. My previous portable toilet was Fiamma and it was great but after 5 years it couldn't hold back the smell and started leaking. I read reviews of this product and was hesitant to spend over a hundred dollars on a portable toilet that may or may not have electric flush issues. Luckily I have one that washes off, but as some reviewers have pointed out, it can fail. I've only been using it for two weeks, so far so good. I will update in a few months and again in a year. Now my rating of the most mobile toilet. I have to say the Fiamma I had was good but this Thetford corner is better. First off it's bigger than my Fiamma and Thetford feels like a real toilet. It looks a lot better with smooth lines and curves, which is good when company comes along and they don't have to deal with a square toilet that looks like a bling, and shackled people will feel more comfortable sitting on the Thetford sit curve. The automatic flush is excellent. It gets the job done and doesn't splash water onto the toilet seat like a manual Fiamma flush would. I am an overweight person and I feel comfortable using this toilet. This toilet appears to be built to last. I wouldn't sit on the lid (even if I were skinny) because it really isn't meant to be sat on. I just emptied it for the first time. I don't have the biggest back and by the way you have to hold it with the weight of the waste it's a little uncomfortable and puts a little more strain on my back than the Fiamma toilet. But you have to (maybe) get used to it. But that's a big but (no pun intended). I would accept the awkwardness of the Thetford corner devastation over Fiamma for one reason, and for me that's an important reason. As the Fiamma emptied, it spurted everywhere (even outside the bowl no matter how fast or slow I emptied) and came out like a "smack-smack", creating more splatter. Very unpleasant. But Thetford Curve was much better. The little vent button worked like a charm. There was no splash. It wasn't no"glop-glop". It was poured out like a pitcher of water. Not a single splash outside the bowl. It made the unpleasant task bearable. Even though my electric flush didn't work (and it does), the way it emptied made it worth it. Advice for anyone buying a Thetford toilet. The little vent button that I like has a little flaw, but it can be avoided. Make sure you don't fill the toilet full. If you empty it and it is full when you press the vent button, the waste liquid may come out where the button is. Luckily I didn't get anywhere near a full flush when I emptied it, but I discovered this little flaw after deciding to fill them completely with water on my third toilet flush. So be aware that this can happen. However, I would get this Thetford curve even with this tiny error. CONDITIONER STILL WORKS GREAT. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. ONE OF THE COMMENTS I ORIGINALLY MADE WAS THAT IT WAS UNCONVENIENT TO LET HIM OUT (ESP. WITH A BACK). I HAVE NO PROBLEMS EMPTYING IT AND IT'S NO MORE INCONVENIENT. HE JUST GOT USED TO EMPTYING THIS STYLE OVER FIAMMA. ESSENTIALLY I FOUND THAT THE THATFORD CURVE IS MUCH FASTER THAN MY PREVIOUS FIAMMA AND AGAIN IT DOES NOT CREATE A GLOB GLOB SPLASH EFFECT. HE IS SMOOTH TO BLANK, DANGEROUS QUICKLY AND MAKES WORK (KALAMALOV) FUCKING HARD.
