The fan is easy to hang like a standard fan. The screws are mounting screws and slide perfectly when not angled. There is no handbook for clear panes; place them between the blade and the screw. Clear washers allow grease to pass through and leave streaks on blade after use; After two weeks, stop the fan and wipe the stains with glass cleaner. My fan was noisy when spinning after initial install. The noise was an odd electrical hum that got louder as the fan speed increased. I removed the blades, their mounts and finally the silver cover held in place by three screws. There was a quality control sticker on the lid which I removed. I put the lid back firmly into the screw holes it wasn't originally attached to (there are six of these; three are used by the lid). Also, I adjusted the loose cover on the top of the fan. Put everything back together and there is no more sound. The transparent fins are nice, but they reflect light and cause flickering in well-lit rooms. In my room I am now happy about this fan. Good airflow and now quiet.
