Works great. I used this to mount my phone and the Mophie Juice Pack Powerstation Duo to my 2019 Trek Stache 5 Takeaway so I can see the Trailforks app while riding. Stopped on the trails at Marsh Creek for 4 hours. I've ridden everything from fire roads to black trails and never once dropped my phone. I didn't even have to switch while driving. He held on over roots, stones and drops. It has padding on the bottom for support/cushioning. My buddy cut this part off with a utility knife to attach to his top tube as it doesn't fit on his Specialized Fuse Expert's stem, but it holds in the top tube position just fine. Remember to bring a shorter lightning rod to keep the cabin clean.
